I’ve been debating whether to release the site publicly. It’s not quite where I would like it to be. Even in its current state I do think parents will find it helpful for kids to friendly ideas. I apologize in advance if you come across broken links. I promise it will get better!
Now, on to what you came for…
Our son has a number of snacks I’ve he’s tried over this past school year so we have a pretty good idea of what he likes and doesn’t like. Our goal though is to make sure we are giving him not just healthy snacks but REAL food, not loaded with sugar, preservatives, processed and really just find that balance. He’s a kid. We have let him live but we constantly talk about healthy options and not healthy options. Aside from that, our goal to make sure they fit in his lunch box, aren’t hard to open and aren’t messy. Bonus if the lunchbox doesn’t have “snack debris” in it after every day.
So for right now, the current list of snacks we pretty much stick to are blueberries, strawberries, cucumber minis, baby carrots, pretzels (still trying to see if there is a healthy one, or maybe the ones we have are fine), non-refrigerated apple sauce packets, JUNKLESS granola bars, natures promise granola bars (blueberry, strawberry and one other flavor), and occasionally I sneak in some wedding cake cookies by Siete. Love Siete Chips by the way. Like I said, not all of these are in line with what I would like but it provides a variety and overall pretty good choices.
Our latest find is at Sam’s Club. They have GoGo Squeeze packets with fruit purées, no added sugar, and they’re non-GMO. They’re pretty good. I tried one myself.
